Our Fourth of July

This was one of my favorite fourth of July's. Jarom and I were tired and lazy so we didn't really feel like going anywhere and we didn't really want to have a party so I just planned the evening with the sole purpose of making my kids have a good time. When the kiddos woke up from their nap we made some sugar cookies. Lydi LOVED that, she kept sneaking licks. She decorates cookies extravagantly as you can see. After that we cut a watermelon and made some salsa and chile con queso. Then we got in our swimsuits and Jarom barbecued some yummy hot dogs and pork ribs while the kids ran around the lawn. Then we had some slip n slide fun. Even me and Jarom were running and flying down the slip n slide! It was hilarious and the kids were laughing at us. After a quick shower we went down to a neighborhood not too far from us and met up with the cute Mauzys and Aunt Rhonda and Uncle Van to watch fireworks. Lydi was mesmerized! She kept saying "that's my purple one!" every time a purple one would burst. Jack was just pretty tired but he didn't complain too much. A great day for us to celebrate this great country.
