Another Disneyland/Nationals trip!!! We were lucky to have grammy come with us on our grand adventure. It started with me having to drive a bus- yes a BUS- to California. My arms were sore from trying to hold the wheel by the time we got there! It was fun to go during this Frozen craze and I would have to say that would be the theme of the trip. We got the girls all set in their Elsa and Anna dresses (after having to have one made for Lydi because they are extremely difficult to find right now) and they were all ready to meet their look-a-likes. Too bad when we got there we discovered a 4 hour line!!! The good thing is we were with ever-patient daddy and grammy. Grammy started out in the line and dad replaced her after a bit. We made it through and the girls loved it! They also received a lot of attention from everyone and even had some random Asians ask to take a picture with them! Jack was of course so over meeting princesses! He got his turn in the spotlight fighting Darth Vader. Our kids were so fun this time! They rode almost everything and ended our 3 day adventure with a quick Space Mountain ride. The story behind that was that Lydi wanted to do one more fun ride and we ran to Soaring Over California. It was closed! So we ran to Disneyland (this is after being completely worn out over the 3 days) just before closing time and Jarom, Jack and Lydi snuck on Space Mountain as one of the last riders. It was really crowded the whole time and a little more stressful getting to rides and waiting through lines. But overall it was fun as usual!
I, of course, was juggling our Nationals competition at the same time. The girls did a good job and came home with a 9th place trophy in the Jazz (which is actually pretty good for Nationals). While we were there the kids (and daddy and grammy) experienced their first earthquake!!! (I was in one in Costa Rica) I was at awards with the team and on the top of the bleachers. I was actually pretty scared because it felt like the bleachers were going to collapse! The report from the hotel was that Taylor didn't even notice and the other two thought it was pretty cool. I think the most scared person was Grammy haha... she wanted to remove the paintings from the wall in the hotel just in case haha. We feel pretty lucky/spoiled that we get to go each year! Can't wait till next Nationals trip!
